While lean and lean six sigma training principles are often taken to mean one and the same thing, they are in fact two separate methodologies. That is the reason, in the process of doling out lean six sigma training Fresno, at 6Sigma we distinguish between the two and hand out certificates accordingly.
Understanding the Difference
Lean is essentially a methodology whose clear focus is waste reduction; after all, take any organizational setting and there would be waste of some kind or the other. For instance, resources may be lying idle. An excellent instance would be IT companies which often have employees on the “bench”, i.e. to say not working on any projects at the moment; as and when additional projects come up, they are put on duty. So when there is no work (which may well be an infinite period of time), they are a resource lying waste.
Likewise, there are many physical assets which lie waste. For instance, there are many organizations with more real estate assets than required; they are not even being put to use in a way that they generate income. Instead, they simply lie idle. Lean stresses on either getting rid of such wasteful resources or doing something about them such that they do not remain wasteful resources in the first place.
Lean Six sigma training principles on the other hand have a process oriented focus. In essence, the focus here is on processes which can be improved considerably. For instance, there might be a process in place at a retail chain where inventory management takes X amount of time, each day/week/month.
Now, lean six sigma training principles will carefully look at this X figure and devise means (which may not be easily apparent to lay persons), which will cut down X dramatically, thus bringing about a huge process related improvement.
Lean Six Sigma Training Fresno
Now when it comes to lean six sigma training Fresno, we dwell on both these distinct methodologies and offer certifications accordingly. So if you have focused on lean in your six sigma training, then you will get lean six sigma training Fresno which confirms your participation in – and knowledge of lean principles.
On the other hand, if you have dwelled in the realm of lean 6 sigma principles exclusively, then your lean six sigma training Fresno will confirm the fact that you are in fact trained in – and very well versed with the principles of lean six sigma training principles exclusively.
Now, which of these you choose is determined by a wide array of factors. First, it could simply be a matter of personal choice. Then it is also about organizational preferences; the concerned entity sponsoring you (as the case maybe), might want you to focus on either of these two methodologies.
For instance, if an organization feels that there is way too much flab bloating it, it would have suitable personnel undergo lean training so that they are well versed with this particular realm of lean six sigma training Fresno. Finally, it can also be a matter of market dynamics; today in particular, lean really is in!
