Have you planned out what you and your family would do in case of a high level earthquake? Fire? What about if the worst happens, do you have all your affairs in order?
These situations are hard to think about but necessary to prepare for, just in case. The preparation is a perfect example of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS). You’re dealing with a situation that hopefully hasn’t happened, and we pray never will.
Creating an evacuation plan is very much akin to developing processes at work. In fact the DMADV methodology is perfect for creating an emergency evacuation plan. Obviously you won’t know where the fire is situated, but have several possible escape routes that would work and please practice them.
If there is an earthquake of great magnitude, safety is number one. Number two would be uniting with your loved ones. If you don’t know how to ride a bike, make learning to ride one a priority.
Six Sigma methodology will make getting prepared that much easier. For more information on our Six Sigma training courses or services, please visit 6sigma.com.
