If you have regular customers who keep coming back to buy your products or services, then you have achieved the American dream of running a successful business! To keep that going, you must listen to your customers’ feedback. If they are making suggestions about a product or service that you currently don’t offer, perhaps it’s time to reevaluate the current situation. If you could design a product specifically for the customer you service and make sure there aren’t any design flaws from the get-go, would you do it?

Or perhaps you could just improve an existing product or service? In this infographic, we outline how some Fortune 500 companies make that decision through the use of tools such as DMAIC and DMADV

Earning recognition for his work, he received the Malcom Baldrige National Quality Award, which was said to be the high point of Bill’s life. The 5 Whys is the best Six Sigma tool to find out the root cause of a problem. It is to be used during the Analyze Phase of the DMAIC process. The steps are simple — just write down the specific issue or problem. Then ask why the problem happens and answer the question. Keep asking until you are satisfied with your answer.
