It may overlap with “Marketing,” but we also need some type of process for attracting customers to our portal, as well as a process for determining what exactly is for sale (even in really good pull systems, there is never complete customer pull for the definition of the product or service to begin with). So even if we automate the transaction, there are still many, many Sales & Marketing activities that still need to occur.

Thanks for the question,

Brent
